Rock the Universe (2013)

By Lara 4 Comments

Rock the Universe is a yearly, 2 day, Christian music event held at the Universal Studios Orlando theme park. Each year, a group of new and seasoned Christian artists come together and hold a concert at the theme park. It is a separately ticketed event, that allows all who come to not only enjoy the awesome music, but also the fantabulous rides and attractions at Universal Studios Orlando!

Disclosure: I received free passes for me and my family to attend the event. However, all opinions are my own.

Most of us had never even been to Universal, so this was an extra special treat!

The 2013 event I attended had a GREAT line of of Christian bands and artists like; Chris Tomlin, Switchfoot, Colton Dixon (American Idol contestant), Tenth Avenue North (one of my favs),  David Crowder Band (another one I love), Everfound, Casting Crowns (love), Reliant K, Lecrae, Red (my hubs and oldest love them), and MANY more!

There are special Q&A sessions held on both nights of event with some of the artists, and there are even activities for youth leaders throughout the event! I love that!

And, as if seeing your favorite bands at one of the most exciting theme parks I have ever been to was not enough, they also had a very cool “Fan Zone” presented by Coca-Cola, that featured even MORE live performances, autograph sessions, band merchandise, and even Karaoke!!

I had a great experience–even in the unpredictable Florida weather, the only thing you could have was an amazing time!

A few things that really stood out for me…

The overall attitude of the theme park employees and attendants. I have been to many theme parks, however, I can honestly say that Universal Orlando was the friendliest one I have ever been to. Every single person we encountered the entire time we were there was friendly, knowledgeable, and had a positive attitude.

Lighting and Sound. It was spectacular. It was also done really well. No crazy loose wires or overuse of space. Everything was neat and tidy.

Park Cleanliness. Considering this was a special event, I expected a lot of mess and craziness. Thankfully, I was pleasantly surprised! Universal Orlando is one of the cleanest theme parks I have ever attended–and during a special event! Even the bathrooms were neater than I expected!  Theme park cleanliness may not matter to everyone, but it was a definite plus for this anti-germ obsessed momma!

I have to say, Rock the Universe at Universal Orlando is a MUST see event! I recommend that you check out the website and keep en eye out for when they announce the 2014 event, and plan to attend! It is very affordable and WELL worth it!! Maybe I’ll see you there!

Oh, and in case your wondering if my kids liked it… Well… let’s just say they had so much fun that they were both out like lights within 3 minutes into our ride home! ;)
